STONEHAVEN TOWN HALL TRUST – STEERING GROUP

MAY 2010 UPDATE

TOWN HALL – The tradesmen left the Town Hall at the end of April. The building is now wind and water tight.  General maintenance was carried out at the same time.

TRUST   - The necessary documentation for establishing a Trust to take the Town Hall to a community trust is well in hand.  It is hoped to seek approval for the new  Trust at a public meeting in June.

LEASE – A first draft lease has been prepared by Aberdeenshire Council and is now under consideration by the Steering Group.  It is not anticipated that a final lease will be negotiated before the Autumn.

TAKE OVER DATE – A proposed takeover date is not envisaged before December 2010.  This will give the new Trust time to prepare a management strategy and get the necessary staff in place.  Until there is a official handover, all Town hall arrangements will still be dealt with by Aberdeenshire Council.

FUND RAISING – A programme of fund raising events has been arranged to raise awareness of the project and to gather some funds for the development of the building.  Please come along and support these events.
