Mearns FM AGM
Location:Stonehaven Community Centre
Date:Mon 7th Sept 2009
Time:7.30pm
Details:As you may know Mearns FM has been granted a community radio licence by Ofcom, the radio regulator, and we now broadcast from transmitters in Stonehaven (105.7fm), Inverbervie (106.2fm), and Laurencekirk (107.3fm). Mearns FM is intended to be a showcase for local talent, local programmes and local news; this is a resource for all the community provided by the community. A wide range of programmes is already being broadcast. We have covered local events from markets to highland games and hi-jinks, as well as folk festivals and fish festivals. You may have heard Alex Salmon and Sir Robert Smith speaking just to us. The music has varied from Boom Boom Pow (Black Eyed Peas) to Boom Bang-a-Bang (Lulu). In fact, the only thing missing is YOU.
We are still looking for volunteers to take part both as presenters and behind the scenes. There is still plenty of room in our schedule, and we do provide training for anyone who wants to take part. Please e-mail volunteers@mearnfm.org.uk if you want to get involved. But whether you want to hear your own voice on the radio or not, we want to know what you think about the programmes we are making. Our AGM is a great chance for you to let us know.
